Our Boys

Not sure whether I mentioned it here or not, but we need a new blog title because in a few short weeks Drew is going to become a big brother to Luke Austin!

Seems like the past several months have flown by. Around the end of August, prayerfully we'll be bringing home our second gift from God. With each passing day, Drew seems to notice more Mama's growing tummy.

This is a peek at our little Luke. a few weeks ago. Now, he's growing fast and is already measuring a week and a half ahead of our expected due date. I also added one of me and Drew on my first official Mother's Day.

Big Boy

Drew celebrated his First Birthday with lots of fun, family and friends! The Saturday before, we had a party at the Beach Club and on his birthday, Memorial Day, we had BBQ, cupcakes and ice cream! Drew was the consummate host and though sleepy he partied til the end! =)

Backyard photo session

Today we had a mini photo shoot in the backyard. Drew loved running around barefoot in the grass. He was so happy and just seemed totally joyful the rest of the afternoon. Our little guy is gonna be an outdoorsman and social. He loves to be on the go.

Perfecting his steps

Drew began walking a few weeks ago, just before turning 10-months-old. He's been practicing ever since! Check out his stroll down the hall. He loves to make this little trip and gets super excited when he's encouraged!

What a difference three months make. I have been admittedly delinquent on updating this space. So much has happened. Drew's got more teeth, he's really getting good at walking, and, oh yeah, he's gonna be a big brother. EVERYONE says his quick progression means he's moving out of the way for his little brother or sister. Looks like Grandma was right, she was the first to proclaim it so. Watch closely and you'll see he took 5-6 unassisted steps. So proud.

The top shelf of the organizer once held two containers of socks and two pairs of shoes. Someone is looking guilty! :) And more photos to make up foe the three month sabbatical from posting...

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Drew turned 5 months on Friday. Woot, woot. He has experienced a ton of 'firsts' within the past week. Along with his voice changing, he has discovered his feet and mommy's hands. He will play with my fingers until he falls asleep. Too funny. He also rolled over onto his tummy by turning onto his right side. All of his prior rolls have been toward the left. Within minutes of his new direction, he rolled toward his left, or was it his right, and then landed on his back. He's never been able to roll from tummy to back. To top his record, he proceeded to roll over two or three times, ending up far from his playmat. All of this happened as we were talking to my father on Skype. I think he was showing off. In other news: peas and pears. He loves 'em both, though he is still quite fond of cereal. Our little guy should be crawling by Thanksgiving. Seems like just yesterday he was being introduced to the world.
